Exploring Amazon S3 with JungleDisk

Just completed the setup of JungleDisk Workgroup with Amazon S3. This new service offered by JungleDisk is still in BETA. The service is not fully operational. I was not able to create all the buckets as stated by the company site.

Creating a user Workgroup master account is straightforward. However, ensure you enter properly your email address. JungleDisk does not use more advance validation to ensure your email is valid. This is certainly a minor bug that will be fixed.

Creating bucket with a protected password does not seem to work properly for me. I was expecting to be able to set a password and ensure the password is requested when accessing the bucket. However, I was able to access the protected password without any problem. Again it is possible this a problem with my settings.

On the Amazon S3 side, I don't have any problem to setup one. At the cost of 15c for a Gb, it's a fair price.

The testing environment is to setup the RealWat documents for the www.titook.net and www.titook.com products.

I had a folder that is around 1.8Gb and it tooks more than 15hours to upload. But the most interesting aspect for JungleDisk combined with Amazon S3 is the addition of acccess control management support and support for automatic backup.
